3 Reasons We Love Our Nursing Assistants

Now celebrating its 36th year, National Nursing Assistants Week is observed June 12th through June 20th in 2013. These warm hearted professionals dedicate their time to caring for a variety of ailing and ill patients in need. In honor of this compassionate career, we’d like to show our appreciation with three reasons why CPH and Associates loves nursing assistants!

  1. They’re Compassionate Communicators In between medical testing and procedures, Nursing Assistants spend the most one-on-one time with patients, ensuring their comfort and soothing concerns or fears. Always willing to be a listening ear and hand to hold, NA’s have a special way of easing the pain.
  2.  They Know How To Give Tough Love A large percentage of Nursing Assistants work with the elderly and aging population, and often times are forced to handle difficult situations such as patients refusing to eat, bathe, or care for themselves in a healthy manner. Like nurturing mothers caring for rebellious children, NA’s are required to illicit the art of tough love to provide the best care for their patients.
  3. They’re Not Afraid Of Getting Their Hands Dirty Whether in clinics, hospitals, or nursing homes, NA’s have the less than glamorous responsibility of keeping bedpans empty, changing sheets, and feeding or bathing patients who cannot on their own.
